We all talk to ourselves most of the time, whether we are aware of it or not, but as an athlete your self talk can really have an effect on things like your confidence, motivation and concentration. In order to be mentally tough, athletes need to develop functional self talk which helps them maintain a positive and optimistic state of mind, ready to face the challenges that come their way!
